Taipei, April 13, 2012 (CENS)--LED lighting, solar energy, and 3D glasses projector are set to be on the top of the agenda at an upcoming annual meeting designed to set industry standards for Taiwan and mainland China, according to chairman of Sinocon Industrial Standards Foundation of Taiwan, R.L. Chen.
Chen yesterday said that Taiwanese and Chinese representatives participants in the 2012 meeting, which is to be held sometime in the second half of this year in Hunan Province of the mainland, decided to designate setting standards for the three industries as the top priorities at the meeting after consulting with specialists in these fields.
He estimated that setting common standards would help strengthen the industries on the two sides of the Taiwan Strait when competing with South Korean manufacturers.
Chen said the two sides will announce details of the common standards to be set in the upcoming meeting, at the end of this year.
Chen said Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Wan Gang brought up the topic of cross-strait teamwork on three areas of high tech industries when he recently visited Wan. The three areas are related to a common trade platform and market place for high tech industries, co-development of intellectual properties, and cross investments in each other's high tech industries.
