Taipei, Jan. 28, 2010 (CENS)--Engaged in carbon-fiber production, Advanced International Multitech Co., Ltd., a supplier of golf club heads, has landed contract orders from large-sized high-tech makers of electronic components made of carbon fiber, indicating its step into the 3C (computer, communication and consumer electronic) sector, according to industry sources.
Advanced International has set up a business division dedicated to developing mixtures of carbon fiber and other materials for four years, in hopes of venturing into new segments, especially that of 3C products due to its huge business potential, by utilizing such composite materials.
In fact, the firm already garnered contract orders for carbon-fiber production from three notebook PC makers last year, and has reportedly kicked off mass production of carbon-fiber electronics components for large-sized PC clients, such as HP and Apple, which step up promotion of tablet PCs.
Institutional investors indicated that Taiwan`s makers of golf club heads have seen their cost and production efficiency enhanced by the advancement of production technologies, but their overall gross profit rates have gradually drop to around 15% at present from 20-30% scored in the past. Therefore, having grasped know-how about carbon-fiber production of parts and components for 3C products, Advanced International will enjoy considerable growth momentum in its business operations in the future.
The firm raked in combined revenue of NT$2.7 billion (US$84.37 million at US$1: NT$32) in the fourth quarter of last year, a new single-quarter high, with
Its net earnings per share estimated at NT$5 (US$0.156) for the entire year of 2009. With its efforts on carbon-fiber production paying off, the firm is likely to challenge a new high in its first-quarter sales revenue.
