Advanced Int`l, O-Ta Score Banner Sales of Golf Club Heads in Dec. 2009

2010/01/12
Taipei, Jan. 12, 2010 (CENS)--Two major Taiwanese makers of golf club heads, Advanced International Multitech Co., Ltd. and O-Ta Precision Industry Co., Ltd., enjoyed shining sales performance in December of 2009 due to influx of contract orders from clients.

Advanced International maintained its combined revenue at a level of NT$960 million (US$30.96 million at US$1: NT$31) for December, 2009, due mainly to strong shipment in the month, and achieved annual revenue of NT$8.7 billion (US$280.65 million) for 2009, according to institutional investors.

The firm notes that its production lines have been fully booked by a flood of contract orders till the end of February, hence projecting its combined revenue for January to exceed NT$1 billion (US$32.25 million), or even up to NT$1.2 billion (US$38.7 million).

Enjoying increasing orders from clients, O-Ta reported its sales revenue of NT$741 million (US$23.9 million) for December of 2009, up 45% from a month earlier and 31% from a year earlier. Although its annual revenue declined 32% from a year earlier to NT$4.003 billion (US$129.13 million) in 2009, the firm is optimistic about an auspicious year in the market in 2010, mainly because large-sized international golf club brands, like TaylorMade, Ping, Nike, BS and Titleist, have decided to actively launch new products to cash in on the global economic recovery and boost their sales.

A good news for the golf club and related industries is that golfing has been included in Olympic Games 2016, indicating that new demand for golf clubs will be triggered in the teen segments. For reasons, training a golf player takes about eight years, and a 16-year-old, well-trained golf player, for instance, would averagely need five golf clubs for one-for-one replacement during the eight years of training, because length of each golf club must be relative to his or her height growth, according to institutional investors.
